If you love full-flavored California Pinot Noir, this is right up your alley. It starts with an open and pleasant bouquet of cherry pie and baking spices. The red cherry-like fruits continue on the palate with notes of forest floor. The finish has good length with well-integrated acidity and tannins. In its young age, this Pinot is drinking well on day two and three, hinting that is may age well.
For optimal enjoyment we recommend decanting this wine for 30 minutes to and hour before serving. Pair with roasted and grilled meats like a lamb shank or double cut pork chop. On it's own, it's a party.

The flavors expand noticeably when paired with food, like paella or shellfish pasta.
For us, as wine enthusiasts, 2018 was the vintage of the decade in California. A true home run. The long and steady growing season produced balanced fruit with tons of complexity. Expect Pinot Noirs from this vintage to be enjoyable when young and age gracefully for the next decade.
Vintage: 2018
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Clone: 100% Dijon Clone 115
Vineyard: Boer Vineyard
Appellation: Chalone, Central Coast, California
Alcohol: 14.5%
Oak Treatment: 100% neutral french oak; aged 30 months
Other Stylistic Details: 100% whole cluster, native fermentation
On the nose, bright, light red fruits such as fresh cherry and pomegranate are mixed with green peppercorn spice. Flavors of strawberry compliment the wine’s complex structure from mid-palate to finish, which is aided by good acidity that does not overwhelm. In the glass it has a partially transparent ruby color and should age nicely over the next decade. This 100% whole cluster Pinot Noir is not a cocktail wine and should be paired with high-fat foods, like beef stew or roasted lamb.
